Norman Norell (1900-1972) was an American fashion designer, known for his elegant and feminine designs. Norell was the first American designer with his name on a dress label and the first to produce a successful American fragrance with a designer name. The original Norell fragrance was launched in 1968. In 2015, license holder Parlux launched a modern version of the original fragrance, Norell New York. The earliest edition was created in 1968 and the newest is from 2017. Norell fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Josephine Catapano and Celine Barel.
